We continue our Epiphany celebrations: Jesus’ Baptism by John in the River Jordan marks the beginning of his public ministry, and another Epiphany. The Holy Spirit descends on Jesus and he is proclaimed the Beloved Son.

Eternal Father,
who at the baptism of Jesus
revealed him to be your Son,
anointing him with the Holy Spirit:
Grant to us, who are born of water and the Spirit,
that we may be faithful to our calling as your adopted children;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
