1916 Tales from St John’s, Sandymount’
The dissonant narratives of Dr. Charles de Burgh Daly’s narrow escape from bullets fired at him by Countess Markievicz in April 1916 and the adventures of rebel organist Cecil Grange MacDowell (Cathal MacDubhghaill) will feature in an exhibition at St John’s during Heritage Week from 25th to 28th August.
The event will finish on Sunday 28th with a recital by Eoghan Ward, organist at St John’s, featuring music from both narratives, including pieces by MacDowell.
